The gray-dominant M81 Urban variation shifts the standard black-charcoal-grey print toward a lighter, silver-grey tonal range — same four-color foliage geometry, less near-black, more mid-grey and light grey in the print. On a compression long-sleeve the lighter palette reads differently at distance than the standard Urban: less graphic contrast, more of a tonal all-over effect.
82% polyester / 18% spandex. Four-way stretch, UPF 40+, flat-lock seams. Men's sizing XS–2XL.

Though not officially adopted, it was notably used by the US Marine Corps during a 1994 urban operations training at Fort Benning. This pattern was part of a study evaluating various urban camouflage options, including disruptive and monotone designs. However, both the woodland and 3-color urban camo performed poorly in urban night conditions.
