The Mitchell Camo SS Rash Guard is a close-fitting base layer for no-gi BJJ and high-intensity training. Made from a lightweight, quick-drying knit, it provides a secure, supportive fit that tracks the body through grappling, drilling, and conditioning work. Moisture-wicking properties help manage sweat and reduce cling, so the fabric stays close to the skin without feeling heavy over longer sessions.

This version uses the Mitchell camouflage pattern, a mid-century U.S. design originally seen on reversible helmet covers and field gear. The “leaf” side is built from overlapping, cloud-like blotches in greens and browns over a lighter base, intended to echo dense foliage and broken light in temperate environments. On a training layer, these layered shapes read as rich organic texture up close, then merge into a disrupted field at distance, giving a historically grounded, field-oriented look that still functions well in both gym and outdoor settings. Short sleeves keep the forearms clear for grip and hand fighting, while the fitted cut is intended to minimize drag, reduce fabric shifting, and limit handholds during no-gi grappling. Flat, soft-feeling seams and a smooth interior help reduce friction against the skin.

Built from recycled performance fibers with UPF 50+ protection and certified to OEKO-TEX 100 and GRS standards, this rash guard functions as a reliable technical base layer for no-gi BJJ and other demanding training environments where mobility, coverage, and fabric performance are priorities.

Camouflage Information:
During WWII, the Marine Corps officially experimented with the M-42 Frog Skin battledress camouflage, while other U.S. troops, especially airborne pathfinders in Normandy, used hand-painted splotches, stripes, and foliage for camouflage. After the war, the US Military sought to develop a broader camouflage pattern. Between 1948 and 1953, field tests led to a trial in Panama of eight designs. Two complementary patterns emerged as effective: the green-hued Wine Leaf for spring and summer, and the brown Mitchell pattern for fall and winter, named after artist and former Marine Meldon Mitchell. This combination was implemented in the two-sided Pattern-53, with Mitchell becoming synonymous with both sides.
